If you are looking for variable wattage output and portability from your lighting then these compact redheads are a must.
Designed as a scaled down version of our pro redheads, these lamps omit the spot/flood adjusting dial but drastically increase flexibility by utilizing G6.5 tungsten bulbs that are available in a variety of wattages.
You can power these lights from a range of bulbs starting at 150 Watts and up to a powerful 650 Watts. Just insert the appropriate 240Volt (or 110V) photographic G6.5 tungsten bulb across the range of:
150W 200W 300W 650W
Just like ordinary redheads, all bulbs are high quality photographic tungsten, rated at 3200º Kelvin.
Designed from the same materials as our pro-redheads - the lamp housing is a toughened and highly durable metal alloy, resilient to heavy duty use. The barn doors are fitted with a series of heat sink rings, which dissipate heat effectively, keeping less heat away from the open face of the lamp and lighting gels, also keeping the barn doors cooler for extended periods of time.
A removable wire scrim is also fitted into the barn doors to protect the bulb.
The removable four leaf barn doors are fitted with retaining clips on opposing sides of the top two flags to enable mounting of gels and accessories without the need for extraneous clips.
The adjustable metal U-bracket allows the lamp to be rotated and locked off 180º front and back facing.
The barn doors are large metal leaf, fully rotatable on their circumference and independently adjustable. The larger size means that they stay cooler for greater periods of time as well as affording more accurate flagging of light.
The entire assembly lifts away from the lamp face for transportation and installation of fresh bulbs.
The lamp is recommended for use from 110 - 240Volts and is fitted with an 11 foot, insulated power cable. An illuminating heavy duty on/off rocker switch is fitted in-line.
The smaller circumference of these lamps (116mm) makes them ideal for easy transportation and set-ups in confined locations. They weigh in at a mere 900g which makes them remarkably light for such a high wattage output.
The lower wattage lamps available for this light also generate considerably less heat than their full-size counterparts.
Each lamp is also supplied with a 2 meter stand, manufactured from a lightweight metal alloy and offering rock solid support with it's dual bar hinged center supports.
The top spigot is standard 15mm and is also fitted with a 1/4 screw for threaded lights or attachments.
Folded down, these legs compact to 80.5cm and weigh only 1.4Kg making them both transportable and lightweight, without compromising on sturdiness.
The central columns are adjusted via two locking levers, and each stand is finished in a durable and attractive black satin.
Each stand is supplied in it's own zip up vinyl storage bag with adjustable shoulder strap.
COMPARISON CHART
If you are unsure which of our tungsten video lights would best suit you, please take a look at this comparison chart.
All weights include lamp fitted with scrim, barn doors and bulb.
The standard redheads are lighter, cheaper and have easier to remove barn doors and sprung locks on the U-Bracket for attaching quickly and securely to stands. They tend to get hotter than the pro-redheads but still function exactly the same using identical bulbs and having the same spot/flood adjuster.
The compact redheads maximum output is 650W. The maximum output of both the standard and pro-redheads is 800W. However, the compact redheads take up less space than their full sized counterparts and emit less heat due to their reduced wattage. Varying wattage bulbs are available for the compact redhead lights but not for either the pro or standard redhead lights. No spot/flood adjuster is fitted to the compact redhead.
The pro-redhead lights are built to withstand more frequent usage than the standard redhead lights, and in principle should dissipate heat much faster. The barn doors will stay cooler longer than the standard redheads.
All of the redhead lamps that we supply can be controlled by our 1KW dimmer.
